EVERYDAY MAGIC, WITH MONIQUE NGUYEN

My name is Monique Nguyen, and I am an artist, seeker, and explorer of the deeper threads that connect us to ourselves, each other, and the natural world. My work often weaves together elements of mindfulness, creativity, and community, as I believe these are the cornerstones of a more harmonious way of being. I’ve always been drawn to spaces where personal expression meets collective transformation, and my hope is to inspire others to find their own spark of authenticity and truth through the art and stories I share.

To me, Everyday Magic is the quiet yet profound beauty found in the smallest of moments. It’s the way light dances on a wall in the late afternoon or how a stranger’s smile can shift the energy of an entire day. It’s a reminder that magic isn’t reserved for extraordinary events; it exists in the here and now, waiting to be seen and cherished. Everyday Magic is about presence, gratitude, and seeing the sacred in the mundane—an invitation to live with intention and wonder.

I love to travel and co-create art with local talent. The photoshoot was an organic collaboration that unfolded in Mexico City. It was a celebration of creativity, connection, and stepping into our true colors. The photographer, David Antonio (CDMX-based), was a friend of a friend, and the models were my friends, Val Yermakova (Zurich) and Ryan (US-based), neither of whom had ever had their makeup done or modeled before. It was deeply inspiring to witness them embrace vulnerability and presence as I directed the shoot. Together, we created something that felt both intimate and bold—a reflection of our shared trust and playful experimentation. Suarez Studio, with its soft light and textured walls, provided a grounding backdrop, allowing us to focus on the interplay of movement, emotion, and the everyday magic we were embracing.
